Client was a Financial Analyst and was building a SaaS Startup that was about charts and data analysis made easy for everyone on the planet Earth. Chris’s dream is to build a SaaS Analytics App that anyone can use easily to draw graphs and charts. Primary use was for Financial Analysts or novice Financial Analyst to investigate data and export charts or save them for later decision making.
The Challenges
- Design an onboarding UX flow that facilitates new users easily to navigate through the App.
- Any novice can easily analyze and draw graphs/charts for any data in the world.
- Can’t figure out how to design the solution for Data Sets and their 5 levels of depths
- No way for a user to save or bookmark current Data set for future reference
- Users can’t export reports to Images, PDF or other document types for sharing

The Details
We crafted a whole Design System in Figma for Data Analytics SaaS Startup. Major issues resolved were fixing poor information architecture. Poor buttons, poor labels and no option to export or download the data analytics report in multiple format.
Major Challenge was Data Source Feed levels of depth and it was difficult to solve from a UX information architecture point of view. We advised SaaS Founder Chris, that he needs to have a 5-level breadcrumb for Data source depth navigation so the user can easily navigate through different levels of the same data source.
UX for Onboarding was also taken care of for the first-time users. All the left navigation would have a tool-tip highlighted for a month when a user starts using the Data Analytics dashboard.
The End Result
In the end, Chris got a premium looking, easy to use and engaging SaaS Dashboard that had evolved 180 degree from his old and confusing SaaS Product Design.
